I'm curious to hear Hindu-American perspectives on the upcoming November election. I think many of us have been dismayed and angered by the callous attitude demonstrated by the #Democrats on #Kashmir, CAA, Modi, and Hindus in general. It seems as if they take our votes for granted and expect us to fall in line as brown immigrants and the descendants of brown immigrants. What are your thoughts?

Same here. Voted democrat all my life. But it's hard to support them now, given their clear anti India/hindu stance. Why do they even feel the need to comment on Indian domestic policies. This interference will cost them a lot of votes. I hope more and more Indians wake up and realize that the democrats are no longer the liberal option. They have been infiltrated by too many radical elements. They will not just be bad for India, but they will be terrible for the US as well.
Between Dems abhorent treatment of Tulsi, whitewashing the looting/burning/destruction of small businesses, advocacy for open borders, advancing an anti-Hindu agenda by anti-Islamist elements , nosy interference on India's democratically passed laws (e.g. anti-CAA resolutions in Seattle and Minneapolis city councils), I don't know what disgusts me more about the Dems. I can't vote for this party of radicals, and I say this as someone that once campaigned door-to-door for Obama. If anyone has any doubts how deep the rot goes with Biden family and Kamala, I highly recommend you read Ch. 1&2 of Peter Schweizer's "Profiles in Corruption". Add to all this, big tech and lefty media going out of their way to hide Biden's corruption and being compromised to China, there is no way I will vote Joe/Kamala, or any national-level Democrat for a long time.
Curious words from Ajay Jain Bhutoria, who is a member of the National Finance Committee for Biden (see https://www.india.com/news/world/heres-what-democratic-presidential-nominee-joe-biden-thinks-on-kashmir-nrc-and-caa-4067977/)
“There are groups within various elected officials groups in US pushing language and agenda’s highlighting misinformation and damaging facts on how India handled its own internal matter on Kashmir, Ladakh or immigration reforms related to NRC.”
India too has a right to define its own Immigration policy to support its population and economy, he said.
“I grew up in Assam, Guwahati and I have seen the influx of people across the border and taking away important jobs, resources from local people in northeastern states,” he said.
“The immigration reforms and NRC are welcome steps. Execution of these reforms and strategies need to be improved and India needs to do better in change management and rolling out of reforms,” Bhutoria said.
This is the best description of Joe Biden that I've read:
He is an old centrist who forged a Faustian bargain with socialist Bernie Sanders and his hard-core leftist supporters. That alliance was felt necessary to win the Democratic nomination and the general election.
Lovely to see so many Hindus have internalized western values that clash with Hindu values.
There's even someone who says vote for Harris/Biden as they are 'centrists'. I have a Taj Mahal to sell to that guy. De-funding the police is centrist? Believing all women except when they accuse Democrats is centrist?
Supporting Antifa and BLM both of which are overtly Marxist is centrist? I could go on and on...
I cannot vote for democrats after what they did to Tulsi Gabbard, Aarti Tikkoo Singh, their position on Kashmir, CAA & their general disregard for the plight of Hindus in Pakistan, Bangladesh. The Afghanistan development is good, but nothing can undo their general Hinduphobia. Besides, the party is no longer the broad tent for people with different political beliefs.
*The party is growing more authoritarian left which is scary. Folks like Harris, AOC proudly flaunt their authoritarian tendencies like their disregard for first amendment.
*The squad wear their anti capitalism like a badge of honor, which essential means that they don't care for the American Dream either.
* Nancy 'eat your cake' Pelosi, went to a salon to get her hair done, when most salons in her county are forced to close and are on the verge of bankruptcy
* Pelosi's congress is on recess while many in the country are worried for their jobs, their families, their businesses.
* The democrats cannot as much as denounce the riots and continue to call them 'peaceful protestors'.
*Harris gleefully called for the protests/violence to keep going on after the election day. What does that means? Should we now worry for the safety of our children? of arsonists at our door? For god sake, there is a pandemic to worry about and a thousand related worries. The last thing I need is the fear of arsonists at my door.
At the same time, my beliefs don't have a place in the scheme of things on the Republicans either. Their pro-life, pro-war, profits-over-everything-else, anti-environment stance is not good for Americans or the Planet. In short I see a leadership vacuum during critical times. History has shown us that such leadership vacuum lead to destruction of mighty civilizations. Unfortunately, this leadership vacuum is not because we do not have exceptional people around us. It is only because the system prefers compliant mediocre over exceptional people with a mind of their own.
In short, I am not voting either for Democratic or Republican nominee. I will vote for the person, who I think genuinely deserves my vote.
We should have strong reason for whom and why we are going to vote, has he ever spoken in the interest of Hindus?
In 1992 US was anti India cus they were pro Pak post Afghan War for the help offered to win it.
Hindus need to learn lobbying and forget the past and look at the future. We get too triggered over the fact what someone did to us 30 years ago to suite their own geo political interest.
We need to stay engaged with the democrats to avoid giving pakistanis and muslims entire democratic field to play with.
IF Biden wins, you will see Pro India coverage in the left leaning West Media cus Biden and Modi will have to look like "friends" to defeat the bigger enemy ie China.
Good to see many Hindus in America waking up to the reality of Democrats being anti-India and anti-Hindu.
There are a couple of important points to ponder upon:
Being anti-India is essentially being anti-Hindu; the two are not separable. This is a more philosophical point but for the sake of conversation, you can be sure that if someone is virulently anti-Indian, they are almost always anti-Hindu as well. In fact, the former stems from the latter if you really think about it.
The Democrats, although pro-immigrant, have been anti-India for a long time. The Republicans were also anti-Indian (Nixon/Kissinger) but have slowly started to realize that India is a better ally than China or Russia; although America's policies still don't support this point (since billions of dollars of aid is still given to rogue nations like Pakistan).
It is interesting to note that in 1992, when the USSR collapsed and Russia was in dire need of aid, the US Congress passed a bill to support them. At the same time, India had negotiated technology transfer (of cryogenic engines to be exact to kick start its indigenous space program via ISRO) with the USSR/Russia. When the US Congress was about to vote on the Russia aid bill, it was a special someone who added a line-item in the bill stating that this aid (from the US to Russia) was contingent on Russia NOT transferring cryogenic technology to India! That special someone was Joe Biden! This was enforced by the then newly elected president Bill Clinton (doh!) and the Russian puppet Boris Yeltsin who instead sold (complete) cryogenic engines to India instead of transferring the technology as was previously agreed upon!
India developed the cryogenic technology from scratch and launched the GSLV. However, India's cryogenic program was delayed by almost 20 years due to the subterfuge and nastiness of the USA, especially the US Democrats and in particular, Joe Biden and the Clintons.
To summarize for Hindus in America, the USA has always been anti-India (because they are anti-Hindu). It is in our best interest to manage both sides of the political spectrum tactfully (as the Israelis do vis-a-vis Jews) to benefit India and consequently, Hindus in the long run.
Yes, and thats election Rhetoric. She was pertinently asked a question on Kashmir in a small townhall addressing muslim votebank in California. To gain votes, she gave the best possible answer. Unlike Bernie who actually goes to Jamaat E Islami backed ICNA conventions and rants against India.
Look, politicians have to be smart and sometimes not be too honest. We all like Tulsi Gabbard cus she is too honest and principled. No politician succeeds like that.
